The Council aims to provide a forum for the exchange of views on oral health matters which affect European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) member states. It exists to offer advice to National Governments, to the Commission and others on matters affecting European oral health through the creation and maintenance of a contact organization for European Chief Dental Officers (CECDO).

Who We Are

The Chief Dental Officers are the senior professional officials or civil servants who act as advisers on matters related to Oral Health to national governments in Europe. The Council has full voting members and associate members.

Oral Healthcare

Since 1993 the CECDO have gathered key data relating to Oral Health Workforce, Dental Education, Costs and Oral Health Indicators. These data have been collected by the use of questionnaires sent to Chief Dental Officers or their equivalents...

Publications

The first report published by the CECDO was released in October 1994. It was on Dental Specialties and Continuing Professional Education. Since then a number of other reports and documents have been published.
